As the first primary school in Prague to offer a dual-way bilingual programme, we promote language and communicative skills in both Czech and German. Both languages are considered as equal means for
teaching the common core of subjects. The curricula we follow pertain to elementary schools in the
Czech Republic and Germany (LehrplanPlus).
With our school motto “Strengthening roots, living diversity“, we strive to bring experiences and
perspectives from each student into the classroom with the purpose of embracing, examining, and
integrating what they know and think. We believe that inclusion and respect for diversity are the
cornerstones of a modern, transcultural school community.
The core of our concept is based on dialogic and inquiry-based learning. Students are encouraged to
actively explore new content and to share their thoughts and findings in a collaborative and constructive
environment. We believe that a culture in which learners take ownership of their learning and are given
voice to verbalize their perspectives – both in German and Czech – will lead to openness and curiosity to explore and comprehend the interconnectedness of our sensory world.
